Safety Information
We want you and the people you love to be safe when using candles and wax melts. Please take a moment to read our safety information. This can be applied to any candle or wax melt, not just ours.
Safe use of candles & wax melts
NEVER LEAVE A BURNING CANDLE UNATTENDED
Going for a quick errand or leaving the room? Extinguish that flame – we don't want any unexpected pyrotechnics!
BURN CANDLES OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN AND PETS
Keep your candles on a high shelf or locked away when not in use. Wagging tails and flailing arms might just turn your candle into an accident waiting to happen!
DO NOT BURN THE CANDLE ON OR NEAR ANYTHING THAT CAN CATCH FIRE
Beds, curtains, carpets – keep your candles away from the flammable items in your home.
TRIM WICK TO 5-10MM BEFORE LIGHTING
Trim that wick to 5-10mm before every burn to avoid mushrooming and ensure a smooth, soot-free experience. Some light sooting and mushrooming is normal with scented candles.
KEEP MELT POOL CLEAR
Keep your melt pool free from dirt, dust and debris. Eww!
KEEP CANDLES 10CM APART AND ON A EVEN SURFACE
Burn your candles at least 10cm apart and on an even surface, candles don't like being wonky. This will help them burn evenly and safely.
THE 1ST BURN IS THE MOST IMPORTANT
When burning your candle for the 1st time, before extinguishing, make sure the wax has melted edge to edge. This will stop it looking like a rabbit has dug a tunnel! And will help avoid wasted wax.
WAX MELT SAFETY
- Only use wax melts in burners designed for wax and follow manufacturers instructions.
- Never add water! They aren't fish.
- Check your burner for cracks, chips or damage before every use.
- Never use a sharp object to remove set wax.
